Walking is NOT a Complete Exercise

Approximately 75% of absorbed glucose is stored in the muscles, with an additional 20% stored in the liver. This stored glucose serves as an energy source for the muscles. It's important to note that glucose stored in the muscles cannot be converted back into blood glucose, as muscles lack glucose-6-phosphatase enzyme.

Consequently, exercises engaging multiple muscle groups can burn out up to 95% of this stored glucose. For instance, activities like brushing teeth or basic walking only tap into around 20% to 30% of these reserves, akin to children merely brushing their two front teeth.

Excessive body weight can potentially harm the knees, especially when the heels make initial contact with the ground, exerting a backward pressure onto the knees. Walking and stair climbing, in particular, can significantly transfer a substantial portion of the body's weight onto the knees.

To achieve a well-rounded fitness routine, it's advisable to incorporate a combination of breathing exercises, cardiovascular activities, endurance training, stretching routines, and targeted muscle-specific workouts.
